At the first appointment, our cosmetic dentists will use a local anesthetic to numb the area that is to be worked on. We then prepare the anchoring teeth to receive the crowns that will act as the anchors for the bridge. We will remove any decay and/or old fillings and shape the tooth to allow for the crown. Then, we take an impression that can be sent to the dental lab to create the bridgework. We will place a temporary bridge until your next appointment.

Once your permanent bridge has been created, you will visit us again. At this appointment, we will remove the temporary bridge so we can place the permanent one. We will carefully place it and adjust it until the desired fit is achieved, then it will be cemented into place.

How do I care for my porcelain bridge?

To ensure your bridge lasts, proper oral care is essential. Brush twice daily and floss at least once a day and maintain all regular visits with your dentist.

How long will my bridge last?

With proper oral hygiene, your bridge can last up to 10 years or even longer. However, as with all cosmetic dentistry and restoration procedures, your bridge may need to be re-cemented at some point. Your teeth undergo a lot of wear and tear each day, so your bridge may require replacement or need to be re-cemented at some point.
