A fixed bridge provides a way to permanently replace missing teeth, and those made of porcelain are extremely popular because they most closely resemble natural teeth. Teeth whitening is a non-invasive procedure that improves the color of the tooth enamel to provide a whiter, brighter smile. While there are many at-home whitening solutions, it is important to keep in mind that only natural tooth enamel can be whitened, so any restorations may need to be replaced to ensure your entire smile blends well.
Professional whitening can be accomplished in only two visits to our office. At your first appointment, we will create custom plastic trays from an impression of your teeth. Then, at the next appointment, we will ensure the proper fit of the trays. Once fit is achieved, we will provide you with a special whitening solution. You will wear the trays with the solution overnight for a few weeks, or twice daily for 30 minutes until you achieve your desired level of whiteness. During the process, your teeth may be sensitive but this sensation will go away once the whitening process is complete.
Whitening is not permanent, and patients will need to touch up their smiles every few years. The frequency of touch-ups may increase for patients who are coffee, tea, or wine drinkers, or for smokers. Learn more
